Prior to joining Avalon Advisors, James was a consultant with McKinsey & Company in Dallas where he advised corporations on a wide array of issues ranging from organizational redesign to prioritization of investment opportunities. From 1995 through 2002, he lived in Houston and was an advisor in finance and accounting, including positions of Vice President at Schnitzius & Vaughan, a boutique M&A investment bank, and Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers. James has an MBA with Honors from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and graduated magna cum laude with a BA and BBA, including majors in Business Honors, Plan II, and Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin. James is a CPA. He previously served on the Board of the Wharton Club of Houston. He currently serves on the Boards of the Center Foundation and the Royal Oaks Community Owners Association.
