David attended the University of Texas at Austin where he graduated with BBA degrees in Accounting and Finance in 1991. From 1991 to 1992, David was a tax associate at KPMG where he focused on corporate and individual tax planning issues. From the fall of 1992 to 1995, David attended the University of Houston Law Center, where he graduated cum laude with his Juris Doctorate and was a member of the Houston Law Review. Upon graduation, he joined Verner, Liipfert, Bernhard, McPherson & Hand as an associate in the corporate restructuring and tax group. In 1998, David returned to KPMG where he was responsible for leading tax planning initiatives for Fortune 1000 clients, middle market corporations and high net worth individuals. He became a partner in 2003 and subsequently held various leadership positions in the Houston office until 2005 when he joined Avalon.
