Brett attended Texas A&M University where he graduated magna cum laude with a B.B.A. in Accounting in 1995. From 1995 to 1996, Brett worked as an audit associate for Coopers & Lybrand. Brett entered Baylor Law School in the fall of 1996 and graduated as a Juris Doctor in 1999. Prior to joining Avalon in 2004, Brett practiced law with Porter & Hedges, L.L.P. and represented various corporate clients and financial institutions in a broad range of transactions, corporate restructurings, mergers, acquisitions and securities offerings. Brett currently serves on the Board of Directors of Beta Upsilon Chi and is a Deacon at Houston’s First Baptist Church.
